Consultancy in selection proper
process, machinery & equipment and their
installation is provided to the existing units. They
are also assisted in solving their technical,
marketing and managerial problems. Detailed project
reports are prepared on request by the entrepreneurs.
Economic Counselling
Industrial studies, feasibility
studies for both product and areas are prepared to
determine their industrial potential. In-plant
studies, impact studies, market studies, etc. are also
undertaken.
Sub-Contract Exchange
Small units are registered by the
Institute under this program. Machine wise idle
capacity available with the registered units is
assessed and efforts are made for better utilization
of their spare capacity.
Women Cell
A women cell has been established
to provide information regarding Small Industries to
women entrepreneurs. Women entrepreneurs are assisted
in solving the problems related to establishment of
their industry.
Entrepreneurial
Development Program
Educated unemployed, including
technical persons and women entrepreneurs are suitably
oriented to entrepreneurial culture both through
formal and training and actual demonstration and
motivation to start small industries of their own.
Actual demonstration of process involved in
manufacturing of some items forms an integral part of
entrepreneurial development efforts.
Motivational and promotional programs are organized in
backward and rural areas in co-operation with the
State Directorate of Industries, Banks, National Small
Industries Corporation Ltd., etc. to motivate
prospective entrepreneurs to set-up small units.
Assistance to Sick
Industries
Survey of Sick Industries is
conducted and the Institute prepares report on their
rehabilitation. Banks forward names of Sick Industries
/ DICs and the Institute conducts sick unit study.
Preparation of
Project Report
On receiving request from
entrepreneurs, the institute provides detailed project
report.
Assistance under PMRY
Educated unemployed persons are
assisted in identification of their industries. The
Institute also provides them project report.
Retraining for
rehabilitation of rationalized mill workers
SISI, Indore was selected as Nodal
agency for retraining of rationalized mill workers.
SISI has devised various training programs for mill
workers. Mill worker are being interviewed and
identified for specific need based training programs.

Network
In order to provide latest
information to small entrepreneurs an electronic
database network has been established.
Field Testing
Station
Field Testing Station is working at
Bhopal since 1984. It is equipped with all necessary
instruments for physical and chemical testing facility
for analysis of ferrous and non-ferrous metals &
alloys.
